She joined DFW Bariatrics and General Surgery in the fall of 2020 and continues to focus on bariatric surgery.  General Surgery, such as cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, and anti-reflux operations, remain an important portion of her practice as well.

She has been involved in publications for textbooks and review books in both general and bariatric surgery. Dr. Hooper participates in resident teaching and mentorship. She has presented bariatric surgery lectures and workshops to fellow physicians, nurses and at multidisciplinary conferences, including national and international meetings.  She is a proctor and key opinion leader for Intuitive Surgical, the robotic surgery platform.

“Whether marking off blood pressure and diabetes medications from the post-op med list, seeing a patient who has struggled with infertility have a healthy pregnancy a few years later, or hearing someone can keep up with their kids or grandkids, each of these milestones is incredible. The small part I play as the surgeon in helping create this change is awesome. These patient successes inspire me to provide the best care for patients every day.” – Elizabeth Hooper MD
